When Arnaud calls me to tell me about his new project “Humans of the Alps”, I tell myself that I want to be part of it. The problem I encounter, like most of you, is that going (at the last minute) for a month's hike to cross the Alps, from the Dolomites to Montreux, remains a dream when we have a young child and a mess of professional projects. Never mind, I'm joining them for a few days to begin this superb journey with them and, at the same time, Algorigin is doing its best to support the project.

My program is simple: two days skiing in the region then three days to reach Bolzano, some 40 kilometers away.
Theirs is a little more complex: from Bolzano, they must reach Austria and cross part of the Austrian Alps to arrive in Graubünden and gently reach Montreux in Switzerland, several hundred kilometers further.

I have the chance to participate in the final preparations for the project as if I were carrying it out as a whole: these quite magical moments where we discuss the itineraries, we plan the first stages, we check the weather and snow conditions, we go through review the material to make sure you haven't forgotten anything. Simple moments but very humanly rich.

Departure from San Pellegrino, Dolomites

But what exactly is the “Human of the Alps” project?

The goal of the project as described by Arnaud Cottet and Niko Sanz in a few words: “Cross the Alps on skis from San Martino in the Dolomites to Montreux by immortalizing this journey using our camera and our pen, through the prism of our meetings. ".

You will find the whole story of the trip soon on the Algorigin website, a committed Swiss brand.
