World CleanUp Day: a green wave to clean up the planet

Environmental pollution is increasingly visible on a daily basis. Many harmful consequences for humans and the environment are observed. For example, it is estimated that in 2050, the seas and oceans will contain more plastic waste than fish.

This Saturday, 150 countries are getting involved in World Cleanup Day . The goal is to clean the planet in a good mood!

It all started in 2008 in Estonia where more than 10,000 tonnes of waste were collected in a few hours. This year, the green wave will start in New Zealand and end 36 hours later in Hawaii. Across France, the objective is to mobilize more than 3 million people for the cleaning of defined sites.
